American Girl Hat Knitting Pattern

American Girl Skirt Knitting Pattern

See the matching skirt patttern as well.

Fits American Girl Dolls and other 18 inch dolls.

Materials:
Size 10 US (6 mm) needles
Worsted weight yarn (used Red Heart Kids)

Gauge:
4 sts = 1 inch

Instructions:
CO 48 sts.
Work 5 rows of knit 1, purl 1 ribbing.
On a RS row, work K2, P1 across row. Purl across on wrong side row.
Repeat last two rows until hat measures 3¼".

Begin decreases:
Row 1: K2tog, p1; repeat across row.
Row 2: Purl across.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 twice more until 8 sts remain.

Cut yarn leaving a 12" piece of yarn for sewing. Bring the end through the stitches on the needle and pull them together tightly. Fasten securely and then sew the back seam.
