Greta has a lovely shop in Lindfield which is a suburb of Sydney. It is about a 15 minute drive north of Sydney and there is plenty of parking. If you don't have a car, it is a short (about 15 minutes) train ride from the city. The shop is right down the street from the Lindfield train station.

Greta carries a wide range of Australian-made knitting yarn that's really nice to work with and comes in a wide range of colors and weights. She also carries some magazines and patterns as well as knitting and embroidery supplies. Her shop has been open for ages and she has lots of knitting experience. She also carries overseas yarns like Filatura di Crosa and Lopi and will do special orders and shipping if you want. If you are an American knitter visiting Sydney, you will get excellent value as the US dollar is worth twice the Australian dollar, and the local yarns will cost around $4.50 - $7 Australian for a 50 gram ball.

This place is knitters heaven! Lots of patterns, tons of yarn, classes and lots of helpful advice. They have a great online shop for those times you just can't get into the city, but there is no better place to spend a rainy winter afternoon.

The staff are very friendly and always have time to discuss any questions or offer advice.

I have been completely overwhelmed with projects after every visit to the shop. The range of yarns is extensive from basic Patons and Cleakheaton to some very luxurious yarns for that very special project or person.

My favourite place whenever I have a spare hour in the city! 6/07
