Fringed Vest For Women Knitting Pattern

This bolero style fringed vest pattern for women can be knit without the fringe if desired. Cut the fringe to any length you wish for different looks.

Sizes:
Small, Medium, Large
Equivalent finished chest measurement 38 (42, 46)"

Gauge:
14 sts and 18 rows=4" in St st

Materials:
Size 11 (8 mm) straight needles or size needed to obtain gauge
Size 11 (8 mm) 35" circular needles
J-10 (6 mm) crochet hook
Puffin by Crystal Palace Yarns
4 (5, 5) balls Color #0205 Pinto Pony
100% polyester fleece
50 grams/1.75 ounces
84 yards/77 meters

Instructions
Back
CO 68 (75, 81) sts. Work in St st 5½ (5½, 6)".
BO 4 sts beg next 2 rows - 60 (67, 73) sts
Dec 1 st at each end every other row 3 (3, 4) times as follows: - 54 (61, 65) sts
K1, SSK, k across to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1
Work even in St st until armhole measures 9½ (9½, 10)"
BO 7 (8, 9) sts beg next 4 rows.
Place rem 26 (29, 29) sts on holder for back of neck.

Right Front
CO 15 (16, 18) sts. Work in St st for 2 rows.
Inc 1 st at neck edge (beg of RS row) every other row 10 (11, 12) times - 25 (27, 30) sts
Work even in St st until piece measures 5½ (5½, 6)".
Next row (WS): At armhole edge, BO 4 sts. P across row.
Dec 1 st at armhole edge every other row 3 (3, 4) times At the same time, dec 1 st at neck edge next row and then every 14th row 3 (3, 3) more times - 14 (16, 18) sts

Row 2 and all WS rows: p
Row 3: k6 (6, 7), p1, k1, p1, k6 (7, 8)

Row 7: k4 (4, 5), p1, k5, p1, k4 (5, 6)

Left Front
As for Right Front, reversing shaping.

Finishing
Seam shoulders and sides.
Around armholes, work one round of single crochet.

Edging

With circular needles and RS facing, beg at right side seam (where the bottom Right Front is seamed to Back), pick up 13 (14, 16) sts across the Right Front bottom edge, 56 (56, 59) sts across Right Front edge, k 26 (29, 29) sts from holder at back of neck, pick up 56 (56, 59) sts across Left Front edge, 13 (14, 16) sts across Left Front bottom, 64 (71, 77) sts across Back bottom - 228 (240, 256) sts

Work in k2, p2 ribbing 4 rounds.
BO in pat.
Weave in ends on WS.
Block if necessary.

Fringe
Cut two 25" lengths of yarn for each fringe. Attach to purl sts on yoke. Leave the fringe or cut to shorter lengths in a V shape as shown in photo.
