Open Mesh Poncho Knitting Pattern

Open Mesh Poncho Knitting Pattern Easy poncho is knit with two rectangles so there is no shaping, making the open mesh pattern easy to follow.

Gauge:
8 sts and 9 rows=4" over pattern stitch slightly stretched

Size:
Finished size Approximately 38" wide from point to point and 31" long.
One size fits most women.

Materials:
Size 19 US (15 mm) needles
5 balls Crystal Palace Yarns Big Net
Color #3678 Camel Purple
40% nylon/30% wool/30% acrylic
100 grams/88 yards/80 meters

Instructions
Pattern Stitch (multiple of 4 stitches):
Note: Pattern Stitch includes one additional selvedge stitch on each end. Slip all sts as if to purl.

Open Mesh Poncho Knitting Pattern Row 1 (WS) and all WS rows: P (beginning with Row 3 and all subsequent WS rows, slip the first st and purl across
Row 2: sl1, k1, *yo, sl1, k2tog, psso, yo, k1; rep from *, end k2
Row 4: sl1, k1, *k1, yo, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yo; rep from *, end k2
Row 6: sl1, k2tog, *yo, k1, yo, sl1, k2tog, psso; rep from * to last 5 sts, end yo, k1, yo, ssk, k2
Row 8: sl1, k1, k2tog, *yo, k1, yo, sl1, k2tog, psso; rep from * to last 4 sts, end yo, k1, yo, ssk, k1

Make 2 rectangles as follows, each 20" wide and 32" long (slightly stretched).

CO 40 sts. Work in pattern stitch for 9 repeats or until 32" long. Purl one row. BO loosely.

Finishing
Referring to diagram, seam short end to long end as shown with RS of both pieces together. Fold back so that the points 2 line up and points 1 line up; both the front and the back should have the RS facing outward. Seam from point 1 to 2.
