Reversible Blocks Scarf Knitting Pattern

Swatch shows fewer repeats than pattern.

You can knit a scarf any width and length you wish; a skinny scarf might be 3 inches wide, a warmer muffler type of scarf 8 inches wide.

Use any yarn desire and needles appropriate to the weight of the yarn. Stitches per inch x desired width=number of sts to CO

Instructions:

CO a multiple of 12 + 6 sts.

Row 1: K
Row 2: K
Rows 3, 5, 7 and 9: K5, *P2, K3, P2, K5; rep from *, end K1
Row 4, 6, 8 and 10: *K5, P2, K3, P2; rep from *, end K6
Row 11: K
Row 12: K
Row 13, 15, 17 and 19: *P5, K2, P3, K2; rep from *, end P6
Row 14, 16, 18 and 20: *P5, K2, P3, K2; rep from *, end P6

Rep Rows 1 - 20 until desired length.

K 2 rows.
