Heavier yarn and bigger needles will make a larger lady bug. Instructions Body (Make 2) With black yarn, cast on 10 sts. Row 1 and all odd rows: Purl Row 2: Knit and inc 1 st at each end - 12 sts Row 4: Knit and inc 1 st at each end - 14 sts Row 6: Knit and inc 1 st at each end - 16 sts Row 8: Knit and inc 1 st at each end - 18 sts Work even for 9 rows in St st. Row 18: Knit and dec 1 st at each end - 16 sts Row 20: Knit and dec 1 st at each end - 14 sts Row 22: Knit and dec 1 st at each end - 12 sts Row 24: Knit and dec 1 st at each end - 10 sts Row 26: Knit and dec 1 st at each end - 8 sts Cast off (bind off). Right Wing With red yarn, cast on 5 sts. Legs (Make 8) With brown yarn and crochet hook, chain 1 inch and fasten off. Finishing Sew the two pieces of body together; stuff firmly before completing sewing. Sew the wings on the top of body leaving a space showing black yarn in the middle and the front area for the head. With white thread sew eyes and with black thread sew spots on wings.
