2 (2, 2) balls Color 1240 Limeade (Color A)
4 (4, 5) balls Color 0432 Strawberries-Lime (Color B)
Size 8 US (5 mm) needle
Size 8 US (5 mm) 29" circular needle
To also knit hat:
1 additional ball Color B (all sizes)
Size 8 US (5 mm) double pointed needles
Size 8 US (5 mm) 16" circular needle

Bolero Instructions
Back

With A, CO 58 (66, 72) sts. Work garter st 1".
Change to B. Work in St st an additional 4 (4, 5)".
Shape Armholes
BO 4 sts beg next 2 rows.
Dec 1 st each end every other row 4 (4, 5) times as follows 42 (50, 54) sts:
K1, ssk, k to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1
Cont in St st until piece meas 9½ (10½, 12½)" from beg.
Sizes 5/6 (7/8):
BO 3 (4) sts beg next 6 rows.
Size 9/10:
BO 5 sts beg next 2 rows, then 4 sts beg next 4 rows.
Place rem 24 (26, 28) sts on holder for back neck.

Left Front
With A, CO 8 (12, 14) sts. Work garter st 1".
Change to B. Work in St st and inc 1 st at neck edge next row and then every other row 11 (11, 13) more times - 20 (24, 28) sts
Work until meas same as Back to armhole.
Shape Armhole
RS:
BO 4 sts beg next row.
P one row.
At armhole (beg of row), dec 1 st then every other row 3 (3, 4) more times.
At the same time, at neck edge dec 1 st on first RS row, then every 12th (10th, 6th) row 2 (3, 5) more times - 9 (12, 13) sts
Work even until measures same as Back.
Sizes 5/6 (7/8):
RS: BO 3 (4) sts beg every other row 3 times.
Size 9/10:
RS:
BO 5 sts beg row, then 4 sts every other row 2 times.

Right Front
Work same as Left Front, reversing shaping.

Sleeves
With A, CO 30 (32, 38) sts. Work garter st 1".
Change to B. Work in St st and inc 1 st each end every 8th (6th, 8th) row 6 (9, 9) times - 42 (50, 58) sts
Work even until piece meas 9 (11, 14)" from beg.
Cap Shaping
BO 4 sts beg next 2 rows.
Dec 1 st each end every other row 10 (13, 7) times, then every 4th row 0 (0, 11 times).
BO rem 14 (16, 14) sts.

Finishing
Seam shoulders.
Band
With A, circular needles, and RS facing, beg at bottom right pick up one st in each row space around and knit sts from back neck holder, ending at bottom left.
Row 1: k2, k in front and back of each st to last 2 sts, k2
Knit 6 more rows, dec 1 st each end every row. BO.
Sew in sleeves. Seam sides and sleeves. Weave in ends on WS.

Hat Instructions
With A, CO 132 sts on circular needle. Join, being careful not to twist sts. Mark beg of round.
Knit in garter st 8 rnds (knit one rnd and purl the next).
Dec: *k1, k2tog; rep from * around - 88 sts
Change to B. Work in St st (knit every rnd) for 5".
Crown Decrease
Note:
Change to double points when sts no longer fit on circulars.
Rnd 1: *k6, k2tog; rep from * - 77 sts
Rnds 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10: knit
Rnd 3: *k5, k2tog; rep from * - 66 sts
Rnd 5: *k4, k2tog; rep from * - 55 sts
Rnd 7: *k3, k2tog; rep from * - 44 sts
Rnd 9: *k2, k2tog; rep from * - 33 sts
Rnd 11: *k1, k2tog; rep from * - 22 sts
Rnd 12: k2tog around - 11 sts
Rnd 13: k1, k2tog 5 times - 6 sts

Finishing
Cut yarn, leaving long tail. Thread through tapestry needle and thread through each rem st on needle as if to purl, taking sts off needle. Pull tightly to close top of hat. Weave in ends on WS.
