Two Cable Bulky Hat Knitting Pattern

This knit hat features two cables and fits women.

Gauge:
14 sts=4" in St st

Materials:
1 skein Jiffy by Lion brand or any bulky weight yarn
Size 10½ US (6.5 mm) knitting needles
stitch markers
cable needle

Instructions
CO 74 sts. Work in k1, p1 ribbing for 4 inches.
Row 1: p2, k6 (for cable), p2, place marker, k27, place marker, p2, k6 (for 2nd cable), p2, place marker, k27.
Row 2: p27, slip marker, k2, p6, k2, slip marker, p27, k2, p6, k2.
Cable row: *p2, place 3 sts on cable needle and place behind needle, k next 3 sts, then k 3 sts from cable needle, p2 sts, slip marker*; rep from *, end k27 sts.

Place cable row every 6 or 8 rows (instead of working Row 1) depending on if you want a tight cable or a looser cable.

When total hat length is 10 inches, on RS K2tog across row, removing markers.
P 1 row, k 1 row, p 1 row.
K2tog across row.
P 1 row.

BO. Seam top and side seam. Fold up brim.
