Work in K1P1 ribbing for 1". Change to larger needles and work in St st 2 rows. Mark this row at both ends for armhole. Cont in St st for 3½" more BO 6 sts beg next 2 rows. Place remaining 24 sts on holder. Front Work same as Back to marking armhole. Cont in St st for 1¾" more. Shape Neck Work both sides at the same time. Work 12 sts. Slip the next 12 sts to a holder. With a second ball of yarn, work remaining 12 sts. Dec 1 st at neck edge every row 6 times, until 6 sts remain. Work even until armhole measures same as Back. BO. Sleeves With smaller needles, CO 28 sts. Work in K1P1 ribbing for ½". Change to larger needles and work in St st 3 rows. Inc 1 st at each end of next row, then every 4th row twice.. Work even until sleeve measures 2¾". BO. Finishing Sew left shoulder seam. With RS facing and smaller needles, pick up 24 sts from back neck holder, 9 sts from left front neck edge, 12 sts from front neck holder, and 9 sts from right front neck edge-54 sts. Work 2 rows in K1P1 ribbing. BO. Sew right shoulder. Sew in sleeves. Seam sides and sleeves. Weave in ends on WS. See Abbreviations and the Glossary for help. |
